THE Western Cape Education Department has made an urgent appeal to teachers to apply for the more than 1 300 posts that have to be filled this year, before tomorrow's cut-off date.
And education MEC Cameron Dugmore has called on teachers to "break out of historical racial patterns" when applying for these posts.
"I would appeal for teachers from former Model-C schools to apply for posts in historically disadvantaged school communities, and also for teachers from, for example Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha, to consider applying for posts in former Model-C schools.
