The driver of a car that killed a University of Southern California student and badly injured another in a hit-and-run was arrested Friday, police said.
The car stopped only so a passenger could get out and pull the surviving victim off the hood. He remained hospitalized with two broken legs and other injuries.
The identity of the driver and other details were not immediately released. Officer April Harding would only say that the driver was a woman.
Police planned an afternoon news conference.
