US stocks rise ahead of Fed decision

Wall Street rose Wednesday as oil prices fell back and investors awaited the Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates and policymakers' take on the economy.

Investors worried about the impact of higher oil and gas prices on consumer spending and the overall economy got a reprieve when light, sweet crude fell $4.17 to $132.83 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The pullback came in response to news from the Energy Department that U.S. supplies of fuel and oil rose more than expected last week.
